EDWARD LUC MEES, MDJ
Fr. E. Luc Mees, MDJ studied biblical theology at the Facultés Catholiques de Lyon (France) and missiology at the Katholieke Universiteit Nijmegen (Netherlands). He served for 22 years in Guatemala as a missionary among the Q’eqchi-Maya people, CICM provincial superior (1979-85) and professor of phenomenology of religion at the Universidad Rafael Landívar (SJ) and the Instituto de Ciencias Religiosas (La Salle) in Guatemala City.
From 1993 to 1999 he was Vicar General of the CICM Missionaries in Rome. In 2002 he became a member of the newly founded Missionaries of Jesus (MJ) in the Philippines and later of the Missionary Disciples of Jesus (MDJ). After teaching missiology and comparative religion at Maryhill School of Theology and Saint Vincent School of Theology, he now lectures at the East Asian Pastoral Institute (EAPI), the Institute of Formation and Religious Studies (IFRS), and at the Institute for Consecrated Life in Asia (ICLA) in Quezon City.
