Sr. Sol as students fondly call her is a professed religious sister of the Society of the Sacred Heart. She made her final profession last 1997 in Rome. She finished her Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy (1987) at the University in San Carlos in Cebu City. She passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) after finishing the Certificate in Teaching Program (1992) at the Philippine Normal University. She earned her Master of Arts degree in Religious Studies (2005) with a concentration in the New Testament at Maryhill School of Theology in Quezon City. She obtained her doctoral degree in Biblical Theology (2016) at the Loyola School of Theology, Ateneo de Manila University. She was a visiting scholar at the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley, California in 2015. She teaches Introduction to the New Testament at IFRS, Theology at De La Salle University-Manila, team-teach on John at Loyola School of Theology-Ateneo de Manila University, and as a visiting professor at the San Carlos Major Seminary in Cebu City teaching Johannine Literature. She is a member of the Catholic Biblical Association of America and the Catholic Biblical Association of the Philippines. Her research interests are in the areas of Biblical Theology and Spirituality.
