Himig Ugnayan is the official theological journal of IFRS and is primarily intended for publishing articles authored by its faculty members, students in the M.A. level, and alumni. Guest lecturers and resource persons are also invited to contribute articles. This includes both the fields of Academic and Continuing Formation.
Articles can be submitted at the start of the School Year (August) until the end of the First Semester (December). The articles are then sent to the Editorial Board for evaluation and approval for publication. The contributors are informed later whether their articles are accepted or not.
Approval is based on the relevance of the topic and conformance of the content, style, format, English usage, and of technical elements to the standards set by the Editorial Board.
Article contributions have to be sent to the Publication Staff with the following form:
a. Written in English and using inclusive/non-sexist language
b. Ideal length is 10-25 pages (normal style);
c. Font is Times New Roman:
main title and name of author – 16 pts
body text – 12 pts
citations – 11 pts
footnotes – 10 pts
d. Footnotes are preferred over endnotes
e. Translation and transliteration of languages and characters used other than English have to be provided
f. All other technical elements (e.g. footnotes, bibliography, quotations, etc.) follow the style of Kate Turabian’s A Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations (8th Edition)
